Hello, my name is [name removed]. An anonymous call was made about me saying some pretty awful things. [company removed] along with a police officer came to my condo in Molkom, took my son, gave him to his mother, and I haven’t seen him going on four weeks now. My son’s mother will not answer my calls. It doesn’t matter how much evidence I provide to [company removed] that proves I have an enemy in my hometown that’s trying to ruin me; they will not allow me to see my son and now the caseworker at [company removed] will not even respond to me. I’m getting really desperate and I would greatly appreciate some advice because I don’t know how much more I can take of this. My son is everything to me. [company removed] says they have to investigate to see if it will go to court in 3 months’ time. I cannot go that long without some justice. Hopefully you can email me back. I appreciate your time.

I’m very sorry to hear about the distress you’re experiencing. In Sweden, a child’s placement in the care of a social services agency (kommunens socialtjänst) is governed by the Child Welfare Act, which requires that any removal be justified by an imminent risk to the child’s health or safety and that the parent be kept informed of the reasons and the steps needed to regain custody. Your first priority should be to obtain a written decision from the social services office explaining the grounds for the removal and the expected duration of the investigation. Request a copy of the case file, any police reports, and the specific allegations that led to the intervention; you have a legal right to see this information.

At the same time, you should retain a Swedish family‑law attorney who can file an “återförening” (request for return of the child) and, if necessary, an appeal to the administrative court within the statutory deadline (usually three weeks from the decision). The lawyer can also help you lodge a formal complaint with the Barnombudsmannen (Children’s Ombudsman) if you believe the agency is acting arbitrarily, and can advise you on any possible criminal complaints against the anonymous caller or any misconduct by the police officer. While the investigation proceeds, keep detailed records of all communications, dates, and any evidence you have of your fitness as a parent, and continue to cooperate with the authorities to demonstrate your willingness to resolve the matter promptly. If you are a foreign national, consider contacting your embassy for consular assistance, which can sometimes facilitate communication with local authorities. Please let me know if you’d like me to connect you with a qualified family‑law practitioner in the Molkom area, and I can arrange a confidential consultation at your convenience.

Sincerely,
