If your visa sponsor or managing partner is refusing or delaying cancellation, you can send a formal legal notice and take action through the relevant UAE authorities to enforce cancellation.

If your employer or managing partner is refusing to cancel your visa, you have the right to demand cancellation so you can transfer sponsorship or exit the UAE legally. A sponsor cannot keep an employee under their visa without valid employment.

Before sending a legal notice

- Submit a written request for visa cancellation and keep proof.
- Confirm your employment status and any pending dues or company property.
- Check whether a notice period or settlement is required.

Legal notice purpose

A legal notice formally demands that the sponsor:
- cancel your residence visa and labour permit
- complete immigration clearance procedures
- provide end-of-service settlement and documents

If they still refuse

- File a complaint with MOHRE (private sector employees).
- If MOHRE does not have jurisdiction, approach the relevant free zone authority.
- Submit an immigration complaint to prevent visa misuse.
