Can I still file a lawsuit?

If I did not file an EEO in a timely manner because I was not aware. Can I still file a lawsuit?

Hi,

Typically, you must file an EEO complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) within 180 days from the date of the discriminatory act. However, if your employer is a state or local government entity, you have 300 days to file a complaint.
