yes it is possible to move from a student permit to a self employment permit but its not an automatic swich. you must apply for a new permit catgory. zambia does not have an auto-entrepreneur permit but the the self emploment permit serves the same purpose for freelancers and remote workers. you can offer services to US based clients provided that you first register a zambian busniess showing proof of income contracts and submit a business plan. immigration mainly checks the business legitimacy and that you work illegally while still on a student permit. if your documents are in order the transition is very achievable
