Need assistance with regards a personal injury claim

As we entered the offices I slipped on the office floors which are tiled floors. The only possible reason that I slipped is that the floors are tiled and once snow entered the office through the open door and landed on the tiled floor it became ice and as I stepped into the office I slipped on the slippery icy floor. This slip resulted in my femur bone in my left leg snapping completely. The [company removed] were able to pull me under my arms into the office out of the snow conditions and then close the door.

While I was lying on the floor waiting for the paramedics to arrive I looked down at my left leg and noticed that the knee and foot were both facing in the left of centre direction which is a sign of a broken femur.

When the paramedics arrived one of the paramedics also slipped in the same place but was able to prevent herself from falling. The paramedics then proceeded to apply the necessary first aid procedures required in this type of scenario and took me to the clinic at the mine where X-rays were taken to confirm what I had suspected. Arrangements were made then to transport me from the mine to the Lesotho/South Africa border and then onto a hospital in Bethlehem Free State

Where I received emergency medical treatment and was subsequently treated for the fractured femur. There were other repercussions due to my fall such as I had previously had a hip replacement in the same leg a number of years ago and the fracture occurred at a place very close to where the prosthesis from that replacement stopped. It was extremely close to the prosthesis which required that the hospital then also had to do a replacement of the bottom part of the prosthesis and insatll a new one which was longer.

In my opinion in order to prevent this from occurring again something will need to be done to prevent snow from entering in through the door when it is opened to allow access. Possibly building an entrance type hall with non - slip rubber matts.

Yours sincerely

Dear,

Thank you for sharing your experience and the details of your accident. I understand that you slipped on the office floor due to snow entering through the open door, which turned into ice on the tiled surface. This resulted in a serious injury, including a fractured femur and complications related to your previous hip replacement. It is clear that this situation could have been prevented with better measures to stop snow from entering the office, such as installing an entrance hall with non-slip rubber mats.
