Can I join a group claim in Austria over airline refund delays, and what proof do I need?

My flight was cancelled and the airline kept delaying my refund for months. I heard there may be a group claim or collective action and I want to know if I can join and what documents (emails, booking, bank records) are required. I’m also unsure about deadlines and whether costs are shared.

Austria doesn’t have US-style class actions, but airline refund situations are in some cases handled via assignment models or bundled/group claims. Whether that’s an option depends very much on the specific facts (and there may currently be no such proceedings in your case).

Typically you’ll need your booking confirmation, cancellation notice, correspondence with the airline, and proof of payment. Claims are usually time-barred after 3 years from the flight date, and costs are often shared or success-based – if claims are brought together at all. Some passengers prefer individual enforcement, which often depends on the amount at stake.

It also matters whether this is about a late refund or no refund at all. Feel free to reach out with a few details, and we can quickly point you in the right direction.
