The defendant fled illegally to Sri Lanka and is working there. He has assets and bank accounts. There is proof that he fled illegally.. Now the court order and flight ban in UAE is of no use and we need to pursue the case in Sri Lankan courts.. What can we do and can he be forced to pay a large sum?

You can commence a suit at the place where defendant has his businesses and estates and a judgment will be passed in default against him.
