You need to give such Tenant 7 days notice to quit and deliver up possession.

Except there's a fixed term tenancy agreement in existence between you and the tenant, you still have to issue a 6 months notice if he's a yearly tenant or 3 months if he's a half yearly tenant or as the case demands. In a situation where there's a tenancy agreement in place, 7 days notice is okay to be issued before proceeding to court should he fail to deliver possession upon expiration.
