Geraldine’s legal career spans more than 30 years, with positions held in the UK, Switzerland, the US, Malta and the Cayman Islands, and experience including legal, tax and corporate services. Dr Geraldine Spiteri has been a Maltese advocate since 2002 and subsequently qualified in EU & Comparative Law (Magister Juris, University of Malta) and International Maritime Law (LL.M. IMO International Maritime Law Institute).
Geraldine manages the marine and aviation departments of Acumum with her main practice areas being maritime and yachting, aviation and transport and corporate law. Geraldine also lectures at various educational institutions in these fields.

- Providing corporate and legal support to various multi-national companies in industries ranging from ownership and operation of superyachts and aircraft, to manufacturing and distribution of food and drink products, perfumes and other products, IT and related services including consultancy, lead generation and software translation

- Commercial and financial management of high value assets such as superyachts and business jets, including corporate administration of the owning companies

Michael Satariano
Director of Compliance
Profile
Holding a key position as Director of Compliance, Michael’s important focus is on establishing and maintaining a rigorous and robust approach to governance for the Acumum group of companies.
Within his compliance remit, Michael works with the group’s licenced entities, ensuring adherence to the conditions of their respective functions and meeting regulatory requirements. He also charged with overseeing Acumum’s risk management, particularly Acumum Corporates Services Limited where he is also the appointed risk manager of the company.
Michael’s role provides solid oversight of all internal due diligence and anti-money laundering (AML) systems, risk management, including relevant reviewing and updating policies and procedures. As part of his remit, Michael also carries out annual assessments of the licenced entities within the Acumum Group and presents his findings to the Board of Directors.
After completing post-secondary education, Michael has kept himself updated on various regulatory and compliance matters by regularly attending seminars and courses. In 2019, he obtained a Foundation Certificate in Trust Law and Management issued by the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners in Malta.
Possessing over a decade of experience within the compliance/anti-money laundering function, Michael’s career before joining Acumum saw him working for the Personal Tax Division of KPMG (Malta) and within the Corporate Services and Trustee Divisions of several leading Maltese law firms such as Fenech & Fenech, as well as Fenech Farrugia Fiott and Camilleri Preziosi.
Michael’s wide range of interests includes architecture, history and antiques. Outside of the office, he enjoys turning his hand to cooking and reading books.
