Oteng Benjamin is a pupilage/ an Associate at the Firm with a practical, client-focused approach to legal problem-solving. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Hons), Second Class Upper Division, from Kampala International University, where he graduated at the top of his class. He accomplished a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Law Development Centre. Benjamin has built his experience around both commercial practice and access to justice. While at the Law Development Centre, he volunteered with the Legal Aid Clinic, providing pro bono legal assistance to indigent clients. He also interned with Justice Centres, where he supported vulnerable litigants with case preparation, client interviews, and court processes.
He has a strong background in advocacy, having represented his university in several national and international moot competitions. He participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition (2022), was a finalist in the ICRC International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition (2023), and was named Best Orator in the CEHURD Moot Court Competition. He also ranked among the Top 10 Orators in the Tech Law Moot Competition.
His areas of practice include construction law, banking and finance, immigration, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, land transactions and real estate, taxation, and criminal law. He advises both corporate and individual clients on structuring transactions, ensuring regulatory compliance, resolving disputes, and managing legal risk. His approach is straightforward, commercially aware, and focused on delivering effective solutions.
