We advise and represent consumers, employees and employers as well as companies nationwide in “our” district (Altona / Ottensen), in Hamburg and the surrounding area.
We advise private clients primarily on the basic legal issues of family/inheritance, labor law and traffic law.
Our clients include craft businesses and medium-sized companies, which we represent in all labor law issues, both in and out of court.
All partners of the company are admitted to the Hanseatic Bar Association. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Employment Law
Lawyers Berendsohn, Lawyers Reineke and Lawyers Wenzel represent both employees and employers in all questions of individual and collective employment law.
Lawyers Reineke and Lawyers Wenzel are mainly active in individual employment law (including employment contract law, protection against dismissal, part-time and fixed-term law, references, etc.). Attorney Berendsohn is also active in collective labor law (works constitution).
Attorney Berendsohn is also responsible for all labor law issues related to migration.
Below are some specific notes:
Before, during and at the end of an employment relationship, employees are faced with questions such as:
- What does each clause in my employment contract mean? Is the arrangement made effective?
- How do I react to a warning?
- What do I have to do if I have received a notice of termination?
- What deadlines must be met?
- What can and must I do if I don't get my money?
- What can and must I do if I do not receive a reference or a reference that does not reflect my performance?
Many questions can be clarified easily and without legal proceedings.
It is often not legally necessary - and not tactically wise either - to take direct action before a labor court.
However, sometimes – and usually in the case of terminations – legal proceedings are unavoidable.
Employers represented by us are, for example, owners of small businesses (less than 10 employees), start-ups or medium-sized companies. They are based in every possible legal form, primarily in Northern Germany (Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony), but some of them also operate nationwide.
Some companies have works councils, some don't. The employment structure of our clients ranges from individual entrepreneurs to companies with more than 500 employees.
We advise and represent managing directors in particular when concluding and terminating their employment contracts.
At the beginning of a client relationship with employers, we usually visit the business premises of the companies we support.
For both employees and employers, the question often arises as to whether a "freelancer" should not be regarded as an "employee" in terms of labor and, above all, social law. Our employment lawyers also regularly deal with this topic.
Family
family law
For many years we have focused on family law. Our lawyers Ernst Mayer, specialist in family law since 2003, and Marc Wenzel, specialist in family law since 2006, will answer all your questions about family law and will be happy to help you with their extensive knowledge and many years of experience.
We advise you in the run-up to a marriage and draw up marriage contracts tailored to your needs. In non-marital cohabitation and marriage, too, changed living conditions can mean that a contractual design or adjustment of existing contracts becomes necessary.
In connection with a separation and divorce, we represent you in extrajudicial and judicial disputes. Together with you, we develop optimal solutions in all family matters, ie in particular in the areas of child and spousal support, equalization of accrued gains, equalization of pensions, asset allocation, rights of access and custody, use of the marital home and division of household items. We then assert your interests, even in conflict-ridden situations.
If an amicable regulation z. B. cannot be achieved in the form of an agreement on the consequences of separation and divorce, we are at your side as a strong partner in all family court proceedings before the family courts and higher regional courts.
The same applies, of course, to all other family matters such as e.g. B. Adoption matters and care matters.
Immigration
citizenship law
Are you a German citizen and would like to acquire another citizenship? Under no circumstances may you submit the application before your right to stay has been officially confirmed.
We would be happy to advise/represent you in this process. This also applies if you first acquire German citizenship, ie want to be naturalized.
Advice before submitting an application helps to avoid mistakes.
If you wish, we can also represent you in the entire procedure before the authorities, including participation in the required minutes or other meetings.
