Cuatrecasas

In Portugal, Cuatrecasas currently has more than 180 lawyers and the Porto office has 20 professionals. 

Cuatrecasas has its Portuguese roots in the Lisbon office founded in 1928 by Professor Armando Gonçalves Pereira, who soon stood out for his independence in the exercise of law and for an activity strongly associated with foreign investment, characteristics that he continued under the direction of the Professor André Gonçalves Pereira. The consolidation as a reference firm in the national market, together with a strong commitment to its internationalization and, later, the integration with one of the largest Spanish law firms gave rise to what is today the Iberian parent company of Cuatrecasas.

On January 1, 2023, the firm SLCM – Serra Lopes, Cortes Martins & Associados joined Cuatrecasas, incorporating 43 professionals from one of the most experienced and reputable Portuguese law firms. In this way, Cuatrecasas already has more than 250 people in Portugal, including partners, consultants, associates and professionals of the organization.

The Cuatrecasas office in Porto was inaugurated in 1989. In coordination with the Lisbon office, this team defends the interests of the main companies in the country and has participated in some of the most outstanding operations in the Portuguese market.
