Miles Greeces Fitzpatrick (12th Jan, 1936- 12th Mar, 2019), attended Queens College, then studied to be a barrister (at-law) at the Inner Temple (qualified in 1956).

David Francis de Caires (31st Dec, 1937 – 1st Nov 2008), attended Stonyhurst College in the UK, then went to Gibson and Weldon Law School in Chauncey Land and passed his Solicitor exams, gaining the highest marks of Commonwealth Students in 1957.

They both qualified before the age of 21.

On returning to British Guiana, Miles went into the Chambers with his father Maxwell Stoll Fitzpatrick, who was a Solicitor and Magistrate, whilst David joined his uncle J. Edward De Freitas at Cameron & Shepherd.

In the early sixties de Caires and Fitzpatrick shared chambers at 216 King Street and, in 1969 formally established the firm, de Caires Fitzpatrick and Karran, Legal Practitioners.

In 1991, Bayney Ramkarran joined the firm as a partner. After the 1992 General Elections, Bayney was appointed an Ambassador to U.S.A and retired from active practice.
