Mediation, also called conciliation, is a method of resolving legal disputes without the intervention of a judge. This means that parties look for ways to end their conflict under the guidance of an independent third party, the mediator. The advantage is, among other things, that the solutions found are often better accepted than the outcome of legal proceedings. In general, mediation is also less expensive than a (long) procedure.
