I needed residence permit and was given counterfeit documents.

I needed a residence permit for two years instead of renewing 3-6 month visas. A pastor whom I trusted said he knew someone at an immigration office who could help. So the pastor came back with the residence permit. Jump to now, going to the office to renew it myself (for reasons that the pastor could no longer help). I found out that the permit was not only 3x less than what I paid, but also the permits were faked/forged. So I have been living here on fake documents. Now the local police have my passport and threatening to arrest me. Even though I'm trying to do the right thing by going through the proper channels. Plus the police demand money to even investigate the issue and under the threat of arrest.
