Request for Legal Assistance with Student Visa Denial

In Nigeria
Last Updated: Nov 11, 2025
Dear Sir or madam

Good day, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to request your legal assistance regarding the recent denial of my student visa application for Germany. I was enrolled in the Bachelor of Information Engineering program for the Summer Semester 2024 at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (enrollment number: 2757085), and I have already paid semester fees for four semesters.

Background and Context:

I had been waiting for over 18 months for a visa appointment, during which time I paid the semester fees for four semesters. I was finally scheduled for an interview on October 28, 2025. Unfortunately, my visa application was rejected on November 4, 2025. The reasons provided for the denial were as follows:

1. Academic Background: The authorities expressed concerns about the plausibility of my application, particularly due to my previous academic qualifications. They specifically mentioned my Bachelor's degree (which was awarded with average grades) and questioned my potential for success in the new program.

2. Visa Interview: During the visa interview, the embassy noted that I was unable to provide sufficient details about my degree program and choice of university. Additionally, my letter of motivation was considered vague and uninformative, mainly consisting of general statements without clear specifics.

3. Intention of Stay: The authorities raised doubts about the purpose of my stay in Germany, suggesting that my visa could be used for purposes other than studying, based on the information I provided in my application.

Clarification of My Academic Background:

To clarify, I do not hold a Bachelor's degree from my previous course of study, but rather a Nigerian Diploma in Computer Engineering (Upper Credit, CGPA: 3.05) from the Federal Polytechnic. Initially, I intended to pursue a Master's degree, but several universities informed me that my Nigerian diploma did not meet the entry requirements for direct admission into a Master's program in Germany. Instead, they advised me to apply for a Bachelor's program.

Additionally, I received confirmation from UniAssist stating that I am eligible to study Information Engineering at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, after the conversion of my qualifications. I also completed a preparatory course with the university, but I was unable to continue because I was not physically present in Germany.

Request for Assistance:

Given these circumstances, I would greatly appreciate your legal expertise and advice on the following:

1. Legal Assessment: Could you kindly review the details of my case and provide an assessment of my chances if I were to appeal the decision? Also, please advise on the fees involved.

2. Potential Errors in Application: I would appreciate your guidance on whether there were any issues or errors in my application that may have contributed to the denial.

3. Next Steps: Could you please outline the best course of action, including timelines and any additional documentation I should prepare if I intend to file an appeal ?

As my studies are time-sensitive, I am eager to resolve this matter as soon as possible. I would be very grateful for your assistance in navigating this process.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Please let me know if you require any further information or documents to assist with your assessment.

Kind regards,
Omenyi Onyedikachi Frank

Dear Sir

Thank you for reaching out and for providing a detailed account of your situation. I am sorry to hear about the denial of your student visa application and understand the frustration this must cause, especially after such a long wait.

After reviewing the information you provided, it appears there are significant points that could be addressed in an appeal, particularly the visa office's misunderstanding of your academic qualifications (a Nigerian Diploma, not a Bachelor's degree). The rejection reasons you listed can often be successfully challenged with the right legal strategy and documentation.

To properly assess your case and provide you with a clear path forward, I would like to offer you a detailed, text-based consultation via WhatsApp. During this consultation, we can thoroughly discuss the specifics of your application, the embassy's decision, and the best strategy for an appeal. This service is available for a small fee.

If you are interested in proceeding, please let me know, and I will provide the details to connect on WhatsApp.

Kind regards,
