I've been renting a house for about 4 years now. It's on 5 acres, the whole property was covered in tall pine trees. A few weeks ago, my landlord had them all cut down except for a few on the borders. He cut them all down without even asking me. The tree company let it slip out that my landlord was planning on building apartments on the property. I confronted him on it but he denied it. Stating it was for safety reasons. The trees that were left were a few near the house on all sides. Yesterday we had winds of about 30-40 which isn't that high for the area. The stand-alone trees fell over, 4 of them. One almost landing on the house and one falling directly on my truck. He's claiming he's not responsible, these trees were decades old. They just happened to all fall over after the massive group of trees were cut down. Would you consider him liable for my truck being totalled?
