Burundian Young Lawyers Association, "BYLA" is an Association of Young Burundian Lawyers practicing in the territory of the Republic of Burundi and from the two bars of Bujumbura and Gitega . It was created by Ministerial Order No. 530/1080 dated 13/08/2018.
With the strong growth in the number of Lawyers in Burundi since 2012, it was necessary to manage, train and face the challenges of the young Lawyer; hence the idea of creating BYLA.
BYLA has positioned itself as a non-profit association working to strengthen the capacities of young lawyers and promote access to quality judicial and legal services by litigants.

Created by Ministerial Order No. 530/1080 dated 13/08/2018, Burundian Young Lawyers Association, BYLA in acronym, is an association of young Burundian lawyers practicing throughout the territory of the Republic of Burundi, bringing together lawyers from the two existing Orders in Burundi, namely the BUJUMBURA Bar and the GITEGA Bar. Its head office is based in Bujumbura.
The objective pursued by BYLA is to become:
- a reference in terms of capacity building for young lawyers and promoting access to quality services for litigants;
- a successful and influential organization in the world of legal practitioners;
- a credible organization with the resources necessary to accomplish its mission.
