In Sweden a change of job title after you have lodged a permanent-residence (PR) application does not automatically invalidate the application, but you must inform Migrationsverket of the change because the authorities need to verify that you still meet the employment-condition requirements that formed the basis of your PR claim; if the new position no longer satisfies those requirements you may have to apply for a new work permit (or an amendment) before your current permit expires. If your PR is rejected after 18 April 2026 and your work permit has already lapsed, you must either obtain a new or extended work permit (or another residence permit such as a job-seeker or study permit) to remain lawful; you can submit that application from within Sweden provided you still have a valid residence status at the time of filing, otherwise you would need to leave the country and apply from abroad.
