Reviews help you make informed decisions when choosing a lawyer and help law firms build their reputation. Lawzana lets you read reviews from past clients and share your own experience.

Reading Reviews#

Where to Find Reviews#

Reviews appear on:

  • Firm profile pages — See all reviews for a firm
  • Office pages — Reviews specific to a firm's location
  • Directory results — Star ratings appear alongside search results

What Reviews Show#

Each review includes:

  • Star rating — A score from 1 to 5 stars
  • Written feedback — The reviewer's account of their experience
  • Practice area — The type of legal service the review relates to
  • Reviewer name — Or "Anonymous" if the reviewer chose to remain private
  • Firm response — Some firms reply to reviews, which appears below the review
Tip
Look at a firm's overall star rating and total number of reviews for a quick impression, then read individual reviews for more detail.

Writing a Review#

If you've worked with a law firm listed on Lawzana, you can share your experience to help others.

How to Submit a Review#

  1. Go to the firm's profile page
  2. Click Write a Review (or use the direct review link if the firm shared one with you)
  3. Fill in the review form:
    • First name and Last name
    • Email address (enter it twice to confirm)
    • Star rating — Click to select 1–5 stars
    • Practice area — Select the type of legal service you used
    • Sub-practice (optional) — Further specify the service area
    • Your review — Write at least 100 characters about your experience
    • Attachment (optional) — Upload a relevant image (JPG or PNG, max 2 MB)
    • Display preference — Choose to post as your first name or as "Anonymous"
  4. Click Submit

Review Guidelines#

When writing your review, consider including:

  • What type of legal matter you needed help with
  • How the firm communicated with you
  • Whether the outcome met your expectations
  • How responsive and professional the team was
  • Whether you would recommend the firm to others

What to Avoid#

  • Personal attacks — Focus on your experience, not personal criticisms
  • Confidential information — Don't share details that could identify your case
  • Unrelated content — Keep your review focused on the legal services you received
  • Fake reviews — Only review firms you've actually worked with

Review Approval#

Reviews go through a moderation process before appearing publicly:

  1. You submit your review
  2. A Lawzana administrator reviews it for content and authenticity
  3. Once approved, your review appears on the firm's profile
  4. The firm may respond to your review
Note
Lawzana reserves the right to reject reviews that violate our content guidelines, but we do not remove negative reviews simply because a firm disagrees with them.

Anonymous Reviews#

You can choose to post your review anonymously if you prefer. When posting anonymously:

  • Your first name is replaced with "Anonymous" in the public display
  • Your email address is never shown publicly regardless of your display preference
  • The firm can still see that a review was submitted but cannot identify you publicly

Firm Responses#

Law firms can respond to reviews. If a firm has replied to a review, you'll see their response directly below the review on the firm's profile page. This gives both sides a chance to share their perspective.
