Client Accounts
Client accounts in Lawzana Flow represent the billing and relationship layer above individual contacts. A client account groups matters, documents, and billing information for a single client relationship.
What Client Accounts Are For#
While contacts store individual people and companies, client accounts represent the business relationship between your firm and a client. A client account can:
- Group multiple matters under one client
- Track the overall client relationship
- Connect to billing and invoicing
- Provide portal access for the client
Creating a Client Account#
Client accounts are typically created when:
- Converting a lead — The lead's contact details create or link to a client account
- Creating a matter — Specify the client when creating a new matter
- Manually — Go to Clients in the sidebar and click New Client
Client Detail View#
A client account shows:
- Contact information — Name, email, phone
- Associated matters — All matters for this client
- Documents — Documents shared across matters
- Activity history — Timeline of interactions
- Portal access — Whether the client has portal access and their access level
Linking to Matters#
Each matter is associated with a client. From the client detail view, you can:
- See all active and closed matters
- Create a new matter for this client
- Access any matter directly
Portal Access#
Enable portal access to let clients view shared documents, track milestones, and communicate with your team. See Client Portal for full details.
