Mr Saakjan

Saakjan advocatuur was founded by mr. A. (Hajko) Saakjan. When he was still a student, he heard it often: it is written on his body to become a lawyer. Defending and arguing for others is part of his character.

It was therefore certain for some time that Hajko Saakjan would study law. After graduating cum laude from gymnasium, he did so at Maastricht University. With the necessary additional activities, he qualified in law in 2009-2013 and completed his law studies with honours.

Subsequently, he seized the opportunity to work as a lawyer at one of the largest law firms in the Netherlands. In that period (2013-2016) he successfully completed the extensive Professional Training for Lawyers in Utrecht and gained the necessary experience in the legal profession.

However, the desire remained to practice law in accordance with the choice to study law at all: to assist fellow human beings in word and deed from a social vision of the legal profession. In that light, Saakjan advocatuur was founded in Maastricht, with a focus on advising and litigating for private individuals and SMEs.

mr. Saakjan specializes in private law, specific tenancy law and contract law on the one hand, and administrative law, specific asylum and immigration law and social security law on the other hand.
